As a British/ EYFS nursery we at Ballon Nursery believes all children deserve the care and support they need to have the best start in life. Children learn and develop at a faster rate from birth to five years old than at any other time in their lives, so their experiences in early years have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe, and happy childhood is important in its own right. Good parenting and high-quality early learning provide the foundation children need to fulfil their potential. The curriculum offered in the setting encourages children to develop positive attitudes about themselves as well as to people who are different from themselves. It encourages children to empathise with others and to begin to develop the skills of critical thinking. We also provide positive environment and age-appropriate activities to develop kids’ skills according to seven areas in EYFS. For below 3 years kids we are more focus on prime areas and above 3 years kids we focus prime and specific areas
The environment is accessible for all visitors and service users with management conditions
As an EYFS nursery, we seek to provide:
Quality and consistency in all our early year’s settings, so that every child makes good progress, and no child gets left behind.
A secure foundation through planning for the learning and development of each individual child, and assessing and reviewing what they have learned regularly.
Partnership working between practitioners and with parents and/or carers.
Equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, ensuring that every child is included and supported.
There are seven areas of learning and development set out by EYFS. All areas of learning and development are important and inter-connected.
Our prime areas are:
We also support children in four specific areas, which help strengthen and develop the three prime areas, and ignite children’s curiosity and enthusiasm.
These specific areas are:
Many theoretical perspectives and philosophical approaches also have a big influence in our curriculum such as Maria Montessori, Regio Emilia and Piaget’s stages of play to name a few.
Curriculum choice is one of the key decisions that families will make when choosing a preschool, nursery or early learning centre. There are so many options available as well as providers noting combined materials and use, and it is often hard to see the reality of what is being truly done and the pedagogical and training underpinnings of these choices.
We believe one of our duties is to promote the national values and patriotism to the children in the Early Years. We will offer daily Arabic and Quran classes for the children age from 2 – 4 years.
All children should be provided with care and education that enables them to achieve the best educational outcomes. We set a policy and procedures to support all children’s individual needs including those with the special needs. Nursery management embedded a clear approach to identifying and supporting children’s needs. We believe that early identification is crucial in helping children achieve their outcomes.
There are many reasons children may need additional support when they are with us in our setting. It may be that they are just setting in or that they have a delay in one area of development.
Our qualified supervisors along with nannies extend the normal day curriculum up to 5pm. We will run a variety of timetable activities every afternoon to accommodate all the different age groups as well as focusing on the children’s learning and development skills. We are looking to run different afternoon clubs in the future.
During the extended care timing, we are developing children Fitness/Sports provision. Our music class is designed to build on a child’s natural love of music and movement. It is a fun and lively introduction to different styles of music.
